Coming Home

After 15 years of conferences held at universities across the United States, the USAP Forum is deliberately coming home to Africa! This vibrant gathering of USAP students, alumni and international educators will focus on how we can individually and collectively make a positive impact on the Continent. We look forward to learning from the experiences of those who are based in Africa and sharing ideas and innovations as to how we can effectively improve our home communities and countries.

The Venue

Chengeta Safari Lodge, Selous, Zimbabwe

Out in the Wild

Taking advantage of Zimbabwe's optimal climate and natural beauty, we have deliberately chosen a striking outdoor setting for our forum that will nurture dialogue and creativity. Chengeta Safari Lodge is located about an hour from Harare in the middle of a well-stocked game park, offering fresh, delicious meals, comfortable accommodation and flexible conference meeting spaces. After a long day of dialogue and discussion, we will relax with a game drive or maybe an elephant encounter. Forum evenings we can share ideas while sitting around the fire or relax with music under a clear starry sky.

Situated at the foot of a dramatic granite outcrop amidst indigenous trees and a tropical garden, this well-established hideaway offers both wild nature and uninterrupted privacy. Found in the midst of a 7,500 acre wildlife paradise, Chengeta boasts large concentrations of plains game as well as buffalo, leopard, lion and many species of birds.

Call for Proposals

In sticking with our theme, this forum will focus on presentations by USAPers sharing initiatives and innovations they have started or are part of on the Continent. If you are interested in presenting, please send an email expressing your interest and topic of presentation, with any links or supporting material about your project, organization or idea to before April 1, 2017.
